Lessons for current students of Bird College

To try and adapt to the current health crisis I have chosen to move as much of my teaching online as possible. This is not new to me, I have done quite a bit of teaching via skype/ facetime before and it has always been very successful. There are two types of lessons available depending upon the provision your child is currently recieving.

1) If your child is currently doing violin lessons as part of a whole-class activity, please click here for your resources and a link to video-tutorials.

2) If your child is recieving small group, or individual tuition, please use the scheduling form below to book a lesson. (These are at no additional cost and each lesson will be instead of a lesson that would have otherwise been at school.) All these lessons will now be one-to-one instead of in the group.

For this you will need:

  • A space where the lesson won’t be disturbed or distracted by background noise, but where a responsible adult is nearby for safety and assistance

  • A device you might video-message a friend/ family member with

  • A place to prop up your device so that the camera can face the child and the microphone is not covered up

  • The ability to either Zoom, Skype or Facetime on your device

  • A responsible adult to begin and end the video call. (Please note that calls answered by the child are not acceptable, and calls will be ended immediately if it is not obvious a responsible adult is present.)

  • A slot, simply book below! Please select the time which is as close to the current lesson slot time as you can. If your child currently has a 30 minute lesson as a group of 3 for example, please select 10 minutes. This will make it a lot easier to fit everyone in for individual lessons. If you’re not sure, then please select 15 minutes.

Shortly after booking your slot, you will recieve an email with everything you need to know about how the lesson.
